THE TOURNAMENT

Results

The tournament will take place on November 8th in California State University Long Beach, Long Beach, California, EUA.

The World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship 2009 and International Master & Senior Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship are realized by United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

THIS IS AN OPEN EVENT. ALL ATHLETES OF ANY CITIZENSHIP ARE WELCOME TO COMPETE. TRIALS NOT REQUIRED.

The athletes must be at the warm up area, according to their fighting schedulle.
The athlete only can enter in the fighing area when is called by the official.
In case of victory the athlete must return to the warm up area, and remain there till the next fight.
No coaching is alowed in the fighting area.

The athletes from the following countries Brazil, France, Portugal, Canada and Japan must be affiliated with their countries national Brazilian jiu jitsu federation, and must bring federation ID at the event before their fights, otherwise you will not be able to compete.

The registration fees for the tournament are as follows:

• The fee for registration in the NoGi tournament , i.e., received from Friday, September 04, 2009 - Saturday, October 03, 2009 11:59pm is US $92.00.
• The fee for registration in the NoGi tournament , i.e., received from Sunday, October 04, 2009 - Saturday, October 17, 2009 11:59pm is US $107.00.
• The fee for registration in the NoGi tournament , i.e., received from Sunday, October 18, 2009 - Saturday, October 31, 2009 11:59pm is US $122.00.

ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11:59PM Saturday, October 31, 2009! (GMT - 7, Greenwich Mean Time). Also, note that registration fee(s) are non-refundable.

THE FEDERATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE REGISTRATION when we reach full capacity, or October 31, wichever comes first.

Corrections by e-mail:
The athletes can send one e-mail with changes on the registration at no charge, by sending a email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org with the subject 'NO-GI CORRECTION'. The deadline is November 2, 5PM PST.

Registration Check day:
The athletes must make sure that their information is correct by checking the website on the registration list for their weight, belt, academy, age division, and name information. If there are any mistakes on the information (ei. typing mistakes by IBJJF) please send an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org. (deadline November 5, 5PM PST) .

The brackets will be released before the tournament . On Friday ,November 6, the brackets will be available online at our website.

After the registration check day, no changes will be made and no refunds will be given.

During the tournament, any mistakes on the brackets that were not correct previous to sign-in check day will lead to immediate disqualification.

WORLD JIU-JITSU NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIP
DIVISIONS

Junior (16/17 year-olds)

> Only bluebelts
> Men
> 16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division
> Athletes born on 1992 and 1993 are eligible to compete
> Fight time: 5 minutes
> There's no open class for juvenile
> Check the weight list
>All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Adults

The division is open for everyone (18 years old and above)
All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Fight time:

> bluebelts - 6 minutes;
> purplebelts - 7 minutes
> brownbelts - 8 minutes
> blackbelts -10 minutes

Women adult

There will be five weight divisions (check weight list)
All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Blue and Purple belts will compete in the same division
Brown and Black belts will compete in the same division

Adults only
Fight time:

> Blue/Purple - 7minutes
> Brown/blackbelts - 10 minutes

INTERNATIONAL MASTER & SENIOR JIU-JITSU NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIP 2009

The International Master & Senior Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship 2009 will be held on November 8th. On This event the points will be tallied separately from the main tournament. The points breakdown is as follows: First place- 9 points, Second place- 3 points, and Third place - 1 point. The event is for Blue, Purple, Brown and Black belts, MALE: MASTER and SENIOR 1, 2 and 3.

All athletes must weighn in with the complete uniform (the weight list already includes the extra weight for the uniform)

Masters (30-35)

• Athletes born between 1974 and 1979
  Fight time: Bluebelts – 5 minutes
  Purple/brown/blackbelts – 6 minutes
  Men only

Seniors 1 (36-40)

• Athletes born between 1969 and 1973.
  Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
  Men only

Seniors 2 (41-45)

• Athletes born between 1964 and 1968.
  Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
  Men only

Seniors 3 (over 46)

• Athletes born in 1963 and before.
  Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
  Men only

REFEREE COURSE

On saturday, November 07th, prior to the World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship, the IBJJF will be giving a Referee course.

Score keepers and Ring Coordinators are needed for the 2009 World No-Gi championships.

Would you like a front row seat to see the World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship 2009? Help our sport grow and be an active part of the development of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? We are currently filling staff positions for The 2009 World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championships. We are in need of time keepers and ring coordinators. You do not have to have any experience, just the willingness to hang in there for a long fun filled day. We will offer online tutorials and have a staff meeting at the start of each day to answer any questions that you might have.
All Volunteers will receive:

1. Staff tee shirt
2. Lunch
3. Food and gas allowance
4. USBJJF membership ID

WEIGH INS

Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight . There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight,they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions ,if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund.

We've arranged a discount for competitors, friends and family at the Holiday Inn. Single or Double is only $89 (plus tax).

OTHER INFO

Each academy can only have two athletes in the same division (of age/weight/belt). If your academy has problems regarding the number of athletes in each division, please send an e-mail to IBJJF ibjjf@ibjjf.org.

Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their Ids to the officials. Make sure you have it at hand.

Depending on the number of athletes in the tournament, some classes may not have an absolute division.
