DIVISIONS

Junior 16/17 year-olds male

Only bluebelts
16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division

Athletes born on 1993 and 1994 are eligible to compete

Fight time: 5 minutes

Junior 16/17 year-olds female

There will be six weight divisions (check weight list)
Only bluebelts

Adult male

The division is allowed to athletes with 18 years old and more
Fight time: whitebelts - 5 minutes
Fight time: bluebelts - 6 minutes
Fight time: purplebelts - 7 minutes
Fight time: brownbelts - 8 minutes
Fight time: blackbelts -10 minutes

Adult female

There will be six weight divisions (check weight list)
Brown and blackbelts will compete in the same division
Adults only

Athletes born between 1965 and 1969.

Seniors 3 (46+)

Athletes born in 1964 and years before

White, blue, purple and brown belts: Online Registration
Use the same link to register for both tournaments (Las Vegas Open and National JJ No Gi).

Black Belts and Female Brown/Black: Online Registration

The number of registration is limited for these events.

The registration fees for the tournament are as follows: 

  • $82.00 - for Registration in the Gi tournament from Friday, June 25, 2010 - Sunday, July 25, 201011:59pm
  • $97.00 - for Registration in the Gi tournament from Monday, July 26, 2010 - Saturday, August 07, 201011:59pm
  • $82.00 - for Registration in the NoGi tournament from Friday, June 25, 2010 - Sunday, July 25, 201011:59pm

ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11:59PM Saturday, August 07, 2010! (GMT - 7, Greenwich Mean Time). Also, note that registration fee(s) are non-refundable. 

It is mandatory for all the black belts to carry their federation membership id cards. Its required to present the I.D card to the event official prior to the match.

IBJJF Membership ids and affiliated federation ids accepted for this event; IBJJF (for non US, Brazil, Japan, France and Portugal residents the IBJJF id is applicable), USBJJF for US residents, CBJJ for Brazil Residents,  Japan federation for Japan residents, France Federation for France residents and Portugal federation for Portugal residents.
IBJJF will release complimentary membership ids for the black belts registered.

You need to have the 2 forms (student id and academy registration) filled and signed by a IBJJF certified instructor with minimum of 2 degrees in the Black Belt,.

If you do not follow the guidelines, IBJJF reserves the right to deny participation of any athlete in this division. All registers in the Black Belt division are under IBJJF approval.

The head coach of an academy's competition team shall be granted the right to change a competitor's registration information. Such changes are limited to: weight division, competitor's name/nickname, academy affiliation and those member's of the academy that will be competing in the open weight division.

Open Class Registration

Junior male and female: blue belts

To sign up for juvenile open class male and female, just check the box during your online registration. Open class available for middle weight or above.

Adult male, Master, Senior 1 and female: white belts
There is no open class.

Adult female: blue, purple and brown/black belts

To sign up for adult open class female, just check the box during your online registration.

Adult male: blue, purple and brown belts

Athletes who placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their weight divisions are eligible to register for the Open Class bracket. The athletes willing to register in the open class should register at the event administration table after having his weight division medal awarded, according to the registration schedule . No registrations will be accepted after the registration closing time schedule.

Adult male: black belts

Black belts registered in the event are eligible to participate in the black belt open class division bracket.

The black belt athletes willing to participate in the open class division must apply their registration at the event administration table according to the event schedule.

No registrations will be accepted after the event registration closing time schedule.

Blue, purple, brown and black belts master and senior 1, 2 and 3:

To sign up open class, just check the box during your online registration. 


REGISTRATION CHECK DAY

ALL ATHLETES MUST CHECK THEIR REGISTRATION INFORMATION ON THE REGISTRATION CHECK DAY - AUGUST 12 ON OUR WEBSITE WWW.IBJJF.ORG

Corrections by e-mail:
The athletes can send e-mail with changes on the registration, by sending a email to ibjjf@ibjjf.com with the subject 'LAS VEGAS OPEN CORRECTION'. The deadline is August 08 5PM Las Vegas Time.

Registration Check day:
The athletes must make sure that their information is correct by checking the website on the registration list for their weight, belt, academy, age division, and name information. If there are any mistakes on the information (ei. typing mistakes by IBJJF) please send an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.com. (deadline August 12, 5PM Las Vegas Time) .

The brackets will be released before the tournament . On Friday, August 13, the brackets will be available online at our website.

After the registration check day, no changes will be made and no refunds will be given.

During the tournament, any mistakes on the brackets that were not correct previous to sign-in check day will lead to immediate disqualification.


WEIGH INS

Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight with the Gi. There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight,they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions ,if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund.

All athletes should fight and weigh-in with tradicional weave fabric gi only (single, double or golden). All blue, all white or all black. No other kind of gi is allowed.


OTHER INFO

The schedule will be available August 12th.

Each academy can only have two athletes in the same division (of age/weight/belt). If your academy has problems regarding the number of athletes in each division, please send an e-mail to IBJJF ibjjf@ibjjf.com.

Depending on the number of athletes in the tournament, some classes may not have an absolute division.

Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show their Ids to the officials. Make sure you have it at hand.
